Mesa Ni Misis is a non-profit movement that teaches nutrition and healthy cooking, using local, sustainable food sources.  “We speak to the women of the house, as they decide how a family eats and is nourished. We learn from other ‘Misises’ and in turn share our knowledge about healthy cooking and nutrition.  We believe in eating and cooking local, as our produce is nutritious and doing so helps support our Filipino farmers.” –Juana

Chef Marc Licaros of LANAI Cafe recreated Juana’s Recipes as Mesa Ni Misis embarks on new ventures and continues to educate families into healthy eating. Everything was so good. Proof that healthy can be yummy.

Juana says that Mesa Ni Misis is blessed to have partners who inspire her on a daily basis to help spread the word on healthy eating. The MovEd Foundation is where they got their start. It was by speaking to the mothers of their students that taught them a lot about the nanays (mothers) in their communities. She is also grateful to the farmers and farms who have shared their generosity and knowledge like Kai Farms, Real Food, and Holy Carabao.
