Just when I thought January would be slow paced after the frantic holidays, was I so mistaken! My kitchen is actually busier, then there are projects and events in full swing.  It seems like many are optimistic and starting the year with enthusiasm. Some latest and the indication that Manila is becoming very cosmopolitan.  Here are my three.

Welcoming NOLISOLI.PH

First up is a new website! Northern and Southern Living magazines are now online, at www.NOLISOLI.PH.  Managing Editor and media maven turned fitness enthusiast and part time healthy culinarian, Bea Ledesma also has a blog in the site. This is not just another site but one to put on your daily go-to’s for all the information it provides.

NOLISOLI.PH presents a new perspective on life within your community and beyond.  The site contains a comprehensive directory of cities in the metro. Restaurant features, easy to do recipes, latest food trends and entertaining.  Noteworthy events in Metro Manila. Health, wellness and beauty. Art and culture.  And of course Bea’s blog and her witty thoughts that give one a good chuckle. Something to look forward to are her healthy and low calorie recipes to keep us trim but not deprived.  She whips up delicious and well thought of meals and I am happy to report, she is finally sharing them.  The site they say, may have the latest movie schedules too.

The Love for PABLO

Second in the metro is the opening of a new Pablo Cheese Tart branch at the Fort, B2, Bonifacio High Street, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. If you are like me, you will love Pablo. While there has been a lot of controversy around Japan’s most loved dessert, I am here to defend it. Not everyone likes very sweet, rich and dense desserts.

I love my “ulam” more than dessert so I tend to go for light, refreshing and subtle hints of sweet that can even border on savory as my meal ender.  Aside from the original flavor, Pablo also has the mini chocolate and matcha flavors. I got to try their milk and matcha soft serve ice cream which had the perfect amount of sweet and creamy, you taste the high quality milk.  I have always liked their iced coffee and am glad I don’t have to trek to Robinson’s Manila to have it.

At number three is my new obsession.  Pyjama Dressing!  This trend has been around for awhile but I have only gotten the guts to wear it after my recent trip to the States.  And what do you know, Shop LCP at The Fort is always ahead of its time and carries different versions of this luxe casual trend.
