During lenten season, eating or indulging ourselves with succulent meat is prohibited as we are asked to practice abstinence. But, that doesn’t mean we can’t eat scrumptious meals during this season. Here’s a healthy alternative good for you and your family. This is another quick and savoury way we make tuna pasta at home.  Quick and easy to do!

Tuna Pasta Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 head garlic (slivered)
  • 5 fresh plump, ripe tomatoes
  • 1 big can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 big can sliced mushrooms
  • 2 cans Century tuna including oil (1 hot&spicy and 1 flakes in vegetable oil) *use 2 cans hot&spicy if you like it hot
  • italian seasoning
  • salt (and pepper) to taste

PROCEDURE

Sautè garlic in olive oil till fragrant (do not brown). Then add fresh tomatoes and sauté till very soft.  Add tuna including oil for that added omega power.  Pour in canned, crushed tomatoes and mushrooms, then season with salt and italian seasoning.  Let simmer in very low fire for 15 minutes for all the flavours to come out and compliment each other.  Putting pepper in this sauce will be up to you and your preferred heat level.  If 1 can hot&spicy tuna is enough for you, I suggest you do not add pepper.  Serve over newly cooked pasta of your choice.
