As I gain traction on these fashion posts, I will emphasize that these are merely about me giving ideas.  At times, I may concentrate on a certain brand I love but my posts are on how to put things together and meant to inspire.  It is also fun to work with pieces you already have and evolve them.  I love my moms vintage and reworking them is pure joy.  More on that in the future.  For now, it will be about being effortless on a tropical trip. Nonetheless, properly dressed.  Because really, it is all about being polished and appropriate with your own flavor of flair. Much to my surprise, I’ve had some requests from my readers abroad that I post outfits I wore during a recent girls-only-cousins-trip.  Bangkok is just as hot as Manila so I made sure to pack right.

Day 1

IMG_8410

A tight schedule did not permit us to change till dinner.  So we wore our travelling clothes from the airport straight to lunch and some shopping  sightseeing, ha ha!  I only travel in pants because I am so obsessive and want my body covered from germs on the plane. I wear closed shoes and don’t leave my toes vulnerable to the the planes carpet or dirt, in case I’m stepped on.  Loose cotton pants for this trip in an ikat print and a sleeveless top did the trick.  On the plane, I was not without a light shawl.  A loved necklace of a colour I love and some of my favourite charms made by Erica Conception of Riqueza, was my accessory of choice.  Don’t be afraid to mix colours provided they don’t overpower each other and have some sort of continuity…

Day 3

Was our last day for exploring and since I advocate our local designers, it was a Maureen Disini caftan for me.  Accesorized w a classic gold coin necklace and gold shiny thong slippers.

this took me from day to night. my hat was purchased from day one at the side street market by the train station.

For breakfast or mornings you just want to hang out pool side, bring light pieces of easy to pack dresses.  In this case, it was a tube dress.

Day 4

In a mad rush for last minute food and spice buys, I got up early to pack and head out before heading home.  Again, I’m in pants, because I am riding the plane home.
